Neighbors were wondering why I was glued to my computer screen the last two days. And this is why! I love Conference time! I seriously get excited for weeks before. It's the feeling I have this morning; I'm filled with power and armed with the tools to go forth again. It truely fills me up.
My two favorite talks were Elder Holland and Elder Ballard. Oh, okay three--and Sister Tanners. I'm sure going to miss hearing her speak. The two top things on my mind at this time in my life are obviously sharing this gospel (I love so much) and being a Wife and Mother.
I love Elder Holland reminded us of our Heavenly Father's words, "My works are without end, my words never cease." They don't cease. I know it! We still recieve his words today through a living prophet, Pres. Thomas S. Monson! I also love how he talked of many teachers in this world that have different understandings of the Bible. I've experiences this lately, and I must put a ditto upon his words--"Don't misunderstand; we love and revere the Bible." Elder Holland reminded us of the scripture, "All authority in heaven & earth are given to me, God." He invited us all to inquire of God. I too, like Elder Holland know that "God is, not was. He speaks, not spake!" I know that the Book of Mormon actually supports the Bible, the New Testment specifically. I also know that if we ask the true source, our Father in Heaven, he will tell us this through the Holy Ghost.
I was all fired up and loving Elder Ballards talk. I'm sure all the young mothers out there were! I will repeat to my self each morning. . ."Doing a little more and getting it done a little less." Joy does come in the moment! I loved every word he spoke! He told us, our husbands, and our children exactly what we should do every day!
If I could say only one favorite thing and not even list all the things above, I'd quote Sister Tanner. "I take great delight in being a nurturer!" I had so many thoughts has she retold of Abraham walking the mountain with his son in his arms. I too, "sob when I read this account." I too, don't know the rest of "my story", but "like Abraham I know miracles will come." I'm striving to press forward with faith and Heavenly Father will gently guide me through my story. I'm sure of it!
