So we're sitting at the dinner table getting ready to say the prayer and Spence pokes his little hand out of his folded arms and points his fingers in a "pretend gun" and shoots right at me with a little "pu, pu".
I kindly (okay--maybe a little stern) say to him "Spencer we don't shoot at people, ever; that hurts my feelings."
He responds with such a tender, soft voice we could barely hear him "It's just pretend, there's no guns in my fingers. I'm sooo sorry, Mommy."
Don't have to say another word. Justin and I just looked at eachother with those parent eyes trying not to smile too big.

What a tender heart! Let's hope he can stay that way as he grows up!
Oh, Megan, I just love all the sweet, precious things you share on here! You are such a great mom to appreciate those little moments. Also- I looove your new layout!
What a sweetheart he is!
Some friends of ours had a similar experience recently, but handled it differently. Mom was shocked and saddened that her boy would shoot her. Dad, on the other hand, pulled out a "big gun" and shot him right back. The little boy fell down, laughing hysterically. I think every little boy does this at some point!
