My Valentines

Of course the most important people in my life kept me busy on this "Love Day". I got to hop from Spencer's Preschool Valentine Party to Sarah's Kindergarten Valentine Party. Then Justin and I got to go out Friday night and luckily find a place my stomach could handle and just had fun holding hands and walking in the rain.

This has always been one of my favorite holidays. I remember my Mom and Dad sending me roses at school or leaving notes on my bathroom mirror. I also remember making sugar cookies (same recipe) with my mom and getting all my valentines ready for my friends. Now I'm the mom doing the very same thing.

My most favorite Valentines was dating Justin though and knowing he was at the temple praying about us while I was heart attacking his bedroom.

Justin and I left Mickey Mouse and Mini Mouse tied to balloons on the kitchen table for our kids. We could actually leave cards that we knew they could wake up and read on their own. Where have the years gone? I can't believe they're old enough for this.

Sarah's teacher has a long standing tradition where she tells the kids that once a year she has special permission to give them all a big kiss! They all giggle and a squeal and start backing away until they realize it's chocolate candy Kiss. I thought Sarah was so funny trying to figure this out!

Hope your "Love Day" was everything you hoped it to be!

I love how special your parents made Valentine's Day for you and that you are carrying on the tradition. I'm going to have to try some of those ideas!

My favorite Valentine's Day was also during dating days. It's great to have such fond memories, but still make new, wonderful-in-their-own-way memories with your kids!
