We don't usually make a big deal about St. Patrick's Day around here, but this year I was tucking Spencer in bed the night before and he said "I can't wait to see what the Leprechaun's will bring me tomorrow!"
Oh boy, my mind started to race as I shut his door (I thought we were supposed to catch the little guys and then they would tell us where to find the gold). I had to get thinkin' fast or I was going to have a sad little boy on my hands. So, I got to make the potato stamps I'd always wanted to try. I had to be tricky without a car and use the things I had at home.

I think the place mats turned out alright and I had a blast makin' little pots of gold under the rainbow.

This little guy made it into my holiday decorations for next year. Who knew the toilet paper roll I replaced earlier that day would be so handy?!

Alli helped enjoy the gold (honey comb cereal). Obviously it's been a while since I had a baby around here and I completely forgot about the no honey thing. We paid for it too. Alli threw up pretty much everything she ate that day--but did it with a smile luckily (must of been all the "luck" in the air).

This was our "green" breakfast". We also ate "Broccoli" with our roast and potatoes later that night.

Being Spring Break and Justin's day off we took the whole day off and spent it riding the boats on the Woodlands Waterway among other things. Loved it!

We also ate lunch at Beck's Prime--our new favorite place! So so yummy, and we loved the atmosphere. We could see the lake, blossoms, ducks, turtles, while we sat out in the sunshine on the deck. It was a beautiful day!

These guys were lovin' the sun too!

So, as the day went on I was lovin' the Irish theme. I've told Justin often that I love Irish music. I secretly (not a secret any more) would love to be a "River Dancer". You heard it! My kids already know that--there's been many an Irish Jig's take place in our kitchen listening to the Coors--always brings a smile!
Just so ya know--I'm trying to think back to all my Grandma's stories and remember if there really is Irish in me somewhere. There's got to be. I've got their stubborn ways for sure, my favorite color is green, love the music, the dancin'--I like drinking root beer?!? What'd ya think?

Megan you are such a good mom! I LOVE all the fun stuff you came up with for St. Patricks day. Maybe next year I will steal some of your ideas and make it more fun around our house! I am still laughing about the river dancing though! :)
