Things I Love

Justin and I were walking around Home Depot yesterday dreaming about all the "things" we'd really like to do to our house or have someday. We finally decided that we forget too often about all the little "things" we do finally have that we have wanted for years. I guess this morning I woke up and decided I was going to really count my blessings . . . or list some of the things that I just absolutely love!

This plant is a good starter. I love it because it looks real (I've fooled quite a few people with this one)but I can't kill it. I love plants, and love the color green in a room.

Our Texas Coasters are definately one of my loves. Love leather, love that in Texas you have to have coasters, and I love that these bring memories of shopping with family when they visit. I saw them at the Galleria Mall when Steve and Brittany were here and actually bought them when Steve and Camille were here.

Our magazine basket would be another love. I actually had someone tell me that it tells a lot about our family. It does. We've got our recent Ensigns, the Friends, our Family Home Evening manual, our scripture picture books, Justin's Aviation magazines, my Home & Garden magazines, and our Preach My Gospel Manual. I love it when our friends, my piano students parents, or the babysitters find the ease of access to great reading material--like I do.

This statue. It's a love as well. It was given to me by my mother just after I got married. My Dad happened to be my Bishop still when I got married (he even gave me my first temple recommend). He used to have this statue on his Bishop office desk; it was a gift to him. I guess I just love that it's from him and it's been carried safely from each one of our apartments and remains with us. It's familiar in our home and I love that it should be; Christ himself is very familiar to us as well.

Our ceiling fans--oh, how I love them! I only survive the Houston summer on an air condition budget because of them. Love, love, love them!

This rug was on sale (major sale of $15), I love the color, the feel, the look and that it's very practical. I also love that we actual of a little "real" entry way to our home.

Funny picture--I know. But this tub has got to be on my list of loves. Some women turn to chocolate; I turn to a bubble bath. Nothing else needs to be said.

My Scentsy wickless candles. I love that I can forget to turn them off and there's no burned down anything because of it. I love the smell, the night light, that it doesn't burn little fingers that are curious, and my favorite scent--satin sheets. This is one of the best inventions!

My bed; love it! I'm one very blessed woman to have a husband on a job detour at the moment. It's the only way we would own a Tempurpedic mattress. We basically paid nothing for this beauty! I love it, I love it, I love it. I really don't need one more reason to not get out of bed in the morning, but man I miss this when we're away from home.
One more love in that picture is my bedroom lamp. It was very cheap, love the look, love reading books and scriptures by it's light.

We may only have a one car garage, but I love all my shelves that are moveable/cheap. I also love the bins that are on them. Love that we all have our own bin to stuff important things in that we'll keep forever. Love that we have bins for all the clothes the kids out grow--we're always prepared for more kids. :)

I love our fridge! I love that I've always wanted a stainless steel fridge and here it stands.

I love my pantry, yes. But you know what I love more? My food storage. I love the peace of mind, I love the feeling of opening the pantry to options, I love my new "Thrive" food, and I love that it's all behind a door I can lock (love you too Sarah)!

I love my new "white" dishes from Sur La Table. I've eyed them for years and I love that my Mom and Dad's christmas/birthday money helped get them for me!

It just wouldn't be right to not include my piano. I say "my" because it's my baby (okay one of them). Justin's grandma gave this to her only daughter when she passed away and it made into my hands. I feel very priveledged to have it and love the memories behind it. I love that not only me and the kids enjoy it daily but that 16 differnt piano students have learned to play on it's keys. My kids will be next!

Our swing set is a love. I love that my kids play out there for hours. I love that I can sit on the swing with Alli. I love that we're about to get a baby swing for her. I love that Justin put it together. I love that it's in "our" backyard.

I love my leather couches and this pillow actually. I've always wanted dark brown leather couches. I've wanted them to have straight modern lines, to be a little classy, look nice, but be comfortable to lay on and cuddle on. These do that all for me! I also love that we got a wonderful deal due to Justin's job detour as well.
The pillow--I bought years ago in one of our little apartments one day because I just wanted to spend money on one little thing that told about me. I wanted something for me, something that wasn't a hand me down, something that I picked out just because I love it. There you go!

These shoes. I love them! I love that Justin picked them out for me. I love that they can be dressed up for church, they're unique, they can be worn with jeans, they're comfy, they look nice--yet their so practical.

This Baby Bjorn is a life saver. Really--it's my second pair of arms. I wore it with Spence and I constantly use it for little Alli. When she had reflux really bad I wore it daily around the house, I take it to the grocery store, on walks, to primary activities when I'm in charge, to school classrooms when I need to help 20 other kids, etc. I just love it!
Moral of the story, I have and own many many blessings and many many material "things" that I love!
