When we lived in Salt Lake I went to an Enrichment Night at the church and sat and listened to how a woman with two sets of twins and about 4 other kids keeps her house together. This is what I brought home and compiled for us--we've stuck with it since and as long as we follow it we feel like we're on top of things.
Notice that I break our house hold chores up to a couple a day. We're also able to get our scripture reading/family meetings in because we plan for them. I must mention the other thing I do is "get my house ready for the day" and "put it to bed." I do this by taking about 20 minutes and walk from room to room and put things away, open/close blinds and just tidy up. This really helps after the kids leave for school and after they go to bed at night just do the last finishing touches to keep up.
My most favortie thing among all of this is to teach my kids responsibility. I love having them help me with their own jobs. They make their beds, clean their rooms, take the garbage out, put their clean clothes away, help with the dishes, set the table, and help with catch up jobs on Saturday that didn't get done during the week.
By no means are we perfect around here. This doesn't always happen, but when it does--things run sooo smooth around here. I love an organized and simple approach to things!

I'm one that asked about it... LOVE the typed schedule. It seems like when it's written down it happens! Thanks for sharing.
I love this! I've been "putting the house to bed" each night, and I can't believe the difference! Even all of my boys have clean rooms as I type this. Miracle! Thank you, Megan!
You are always so organized! I try to be organized, I should copy you and make a schedule like this. But the one thing that worries me is that I will be stressed if I don't get everything done, you know on those days where random unexpected things come up. (all the time!) How do you deal with that? Maybe I should just call you & get your advice about it. :)
Megan, thanks so much for posting this. I've been feeling overwhelmed lately and like I can't get anything done. I think it's because I'm not as organized as I should be. This is great. Thanks again!
Just a few slogans I live by: "surface clean first then deep clean, Moderation in all things, Cherish the moment, Be spontaneous!"
I'll blog about this more, Brittany! But, I love that when I have a spontaneous day or somthing pops up my shedule helps me pick-up right away again.
Am stealing it! You are awesome!
