I just absolutely love this age! It's all fun and great but there's something about their one yr. old birthday that just bursts with personality. There's been hints of what Alli is all about each month she grew a little older but it's really manifesting now! She loves her Daddy, she loves giving kisses, but don't come in between her and her independence!
Her small motor skills have always been incredible. She's been feeding herself from a spoon since she was about 6 months old. That's right! You see! She's writing too! My other kiddos were not interested in drawing until more like 2 yrs. old.
She loves to eat! She goes after any snack--including that bag of broccoli! I love it when she signs "eat" and says "all done." There's definite good communication when it comes to her meals.
She's an outdoor lover too! She's constantly staring out the window and banging on the door to have someone let her out. I've discovered I can can just let her play in the backyard and she'll seriously entertain herself out there for about an hour! I was standing there doing dishes the other day and looked up to see her on the slide!!! Ah! I didn't know she could do that.
Her determination reminds me of Sarah! She got to the top and than dropped down on her belly and slid right to the bottom and laughed! Then up she went again about 5 more times!
Right before church, escaping down the side walk. She never even looks back....

Thank you for the photos, your comment, " I didn't know she could do that." We made a very similar comment many, many times with our boys!! Great photos, great kids, great parents, even better grandparents. JOel and Marium
We're so anxious to see her for Thanksgiving! Squeezes and kisses are waiting for her.
