Can't believe it's another new year! Already a month into it too. This year I've set out to do two things...choose the "best or better" things each day and to "Be still and know that I am God."
There are so many things that I can use my time for and these little mottos are helping me square away my happiness and success.
I know the best place I can spend my time is being a wife and mother...I love it! It's the best job ever!
I love it when...
Allison puts her arms around me as tight as she can and says "I squish you, Mom!"
Spencer comes bursting in the door to tell me a new idea he has
Justin and I get to watch politics together
Sarah's laughing so hard that tears run down her cheeks
I slide my cold feet under Justin's legs and he doesn't even budge :)
The words "I'll do it, I'll do it, I'll do it" rage out of Alli's little mouth
Watching Justin give one of the kids a blessing
Sarah holds Allison on her hip and they walk around talking to eachother
Spencer holds Allison on his lap and reads to her
Allison spreads her arms way out and spins around and around the family room--laughing
Looking around the breakfast table at little mouths chewing and listening to Justin read the scriptures
We mention Family Home Evening and Alli's 2 yr. old body runs in her little tip toe way to the FHE chart and chatters about who has what job
Sarah says the prayer and she speaks in this very calm, quiet, reverent manner that we rarely hear from her
All five of us are riding bikes together on a beautiful day
Jogging around the block with just Justin
Spencer is in his room listening to upbeat music and just going about his daily jobs
Sarah makes Allison's bed, changes her diaper and gets her dressed/hair combed and all before I even know anybody is awake (she comes up with the best combinations of clothing ever)
Allison is laying in her bed and I hear her singing "I Am a Child of God" to herself
Sarah bursting out the front door to yell at whoever is outside...hello, what ya doin', whatever is on her mind
Watching Justin help a pilot buddy that is in the same position he used to be in
I lay on Spencer's bed to read with him at night and he curls up next to me and I usually hear"mmmm"
We're driving along and Allison started repeating everything she hears on the radio
Seeing "tender mercies" come from a hard time with one of the kids
Singing Baby Beluga with the family--so funny that we all know this by heart!
Having a date in the middle of the day with Justin while Alli is at playgroup and the other two at school
Alli's "hold you" instead of "hold me"
Oh, and there's Alli's "sorry, mom" followed by "I didn't mean to" with a devious little grin!
Love, love, love bein' me!

What wonderful things! Cold toes under the leg—Ben's so good about that, too. :) You have an amazing family with three incredible kids. I love hearing about them! Miss you!
