Spontaneous Spring Break

It was Spring Break and Justin and I definitely had "Spring Fever!"  He got home from working on that Monday at 4:30pm and 1 1/2 hrs later we had decided we were going to drive to St. George (our flight passes weren't working at the moment), we were packed and on the road.  It took us about 21 hours of straight driving.  We took turns sleeping and driving and had sandwiches and such in the car so we only stopped for fuel.  Best part about it; we surprised all the family and only called our parents when we were a couple hours out!

It was so spontaneous and every time I think about what we did I'm shocked.  I'm usually such a planner.  Sometimes you just gotta break out of the routine!  We had a blast and as you can see stopped at Cafe Rio to help our craving that we live with in Texas.

We met all my sisters at the park with their kiddos.  We just have so many kids and busy lives at this point that this was he best option to get us all together.  It was very fun to just sit out in the sunshine and chat while all the cousins got to play.

We got to see Steve and Brittany's new place down in St. George that they were moving into that week.  We felt honored they would leave the boxes and go out in the red sand with us.  We were hoping for a little hike with the kids while the husbands got a good run in but it turned out to be a walk and one big giant sand box:

We just relax and played and ate all week.  We met at another park with Justin's family one night again:

We got to watch the amazing "Blue Angels" while we were there.  Justin was super super excited to take Spencer and see a once in a life time show!!!  So amazing and incredible what those pilots do!!!  This is the family huddled by the side of the school where we were watchin' the skies.

Besides bein' a little chilly...it was soooo windy!  Which I think makes that Flying Show that much more incredible!

Brigitta accidentally lost her YW necklace that she just barely got and was heart broken.  We all pitched into help her find it with our line sweep across the grass.  Miraculously the second time over someone found it!  Prayers work!

Aunt Brittany is so fun and had green nail polish and glitter ready for St. Patrick's day!  All the Sister's-in-law and girls got to have shiny green toes!

Hangin' out with full tummies at Uncle Ben's and Aunt Chelsi's

After a week of swimming in the sun and playing at parks and having picnics we were a bit surprised to be driving up to Pine Valley in snow our last day there.  So beautiful and peaceful on a Sunday Morning on the way to church at the Pine Valley Chapel with my parents.  My mom got to teach the kids in primary...it's pretty special because there was only 1 or 2 other kids.

After a good night rest, my sweet Dad woke up to shovel the walk and drive a path in his truck with us through the snow at 3:30am so we could drive our 20+ hrs home again.  It's awesome to go and surprise family like that.  Just slip into their busy lives and know we're welcome anytime!

This a Spring Break to Remember!

Thank you for sharing your weekend. 21 hours of driving, Marium and I were impressed. What memories were made. What a fantastic family. Of course, family is what it is all about.
