Spencer's Questions

Spencer walked down the stairs this morning and said, "Mommy, I'm awake now and the sun is up. Sarah will come home now?" (Too bad she left on the bus only 20 mintues earlier)

So, a little later I was going about my morning--looking up some directions, checking my e-mails, dusting, vaccuming, doing dishes. Spencer likes to follow me around and help usually, but this morning he would follow me and just kept asking where all his friends lived.

"Mom, where does James live? Is he far far away, or by us?"
I'd answer, "it takes us a few minutes to get to his house, huh?"
Spence would say, "Where does David live, show me on my map."
I told him that his map shows the whole earth so the dot where Houston is, is where we live and would be the same for his friends in Houston.
Then he asked "Where's my Matt and my Annie's house?"
I told him they live in St. George.
"St. George is in Utah, where is that?" he said.
I showed him on the map.
Then he says, "that's where Nathan and Becca live, huh?"
Then he asked , "where do Ben & Katie live, and what about Mercedes and Trey?"
I told him they lived around the corner and down the street.
"Where does Kennedy and Andrew live, mom?"
I said, "down the street."
Then he asked "where is my Austin and his baby sister?"
"They live in Kingwood", I told him. I liked his answer--"hm."
"Where do Gabe & Mia live?"
They used to live next door in Provo, huh? I said

Finally after all the questions, he paused and looked at me serious saying "we all live on the earth now, huh?"
"Yes spencer we do" was my response.
"We will all die, mom."
This was they end. I hate to say I laughed, but I had no idea that this was all leading to that. I'm just glad I have a thinker!

As I've been typing this, Spencer has been sitting on my lap. He keeps swapping my hands away from the key board. Finally he just told me "I'm trying to watch those, mom. Those things are all the letters of the alphabet." Now he's pointing out which letters I should "make". He always keeps me smiling!

Ok, so I just figured out that you can leave comments, so sorry none till now. Thanks for all the comments I found on my blog! That is so cute about Spence. I read the part about Matt and Annie to them--Matt sure misses his Spencer. When we talk of playing with friends he always asks about Spence! We sure miss you guys! Tell them hello from Matt and Annie in Utah!! We love you!

What an interesting question to end his geography lesson! I sure like those Kroff kids. Cuties, both of them. Tell Sarah Ian misses his stroller buddy. :)
