I Love My Job!

Yip! It's wonderful! Always dreamed of being a mom and a wife, and now I'm smack dab in the middle of the thing I love most. Some may have noticed I sorta skipped over Mother's day on my blog. Honestly, it was an emotional day for me. Family and some friends probably know why. See. I still can't talk about it, but I just thought I'd shout out a few of my favorite things right now, ya know to focus on the blessings I have.

-I love it when Sarah pretends to still be asleep when I go in to wake her up in the morning (her smile burried down deep in her pillow melts me)
-It can be mid conversation or just in complete silence when Spence says "Mommy, I love you."
-I love the moment I see Justin walking "out" the doors at the airport (and all the heads turn up and down the terminal--I agree, what a sight!)
-Spencer's "I'm dancin'; I gotta go potty!"
-Love, love, love when Sarah's teacher at church said she volunteered to say the prayer in class and she said it by herself all the way through.
-It's so fun when Spence tells me he "just can't walk on the grass--there's fire ants in there" and then climbs on my back every morning while I water the lawn. (I don't want sprinklers, yet. this is too fun.)
-Justin's steak! Justin's grilled pork chops! Justin's chicken! (makes my mouth water just thinkin about it)
-Sprinklers, and the giggles!
-Watching Sarah and Spencer play tickle tag--so funny!
-I love standing at the sink doing dishes and can hear Justin upstairs putting both kid to bed--clicker, brace, prayers, brushing teeth, stories and all.
-Hearing Spence & Sarah plan out the whole event in the back seat, on the way to the aiport to pick up Daddy. "You get a daddy hug, I get tickles!"
-Sarah dragging me in her room to show me she cleaned it all up--and it's always Megan clean!
-Spencer tucking the broom or mop in the corner of the blue chair to make his pirate ship.
-Justin's phone calls 20 times a day--love it!
-When Sarah asks for help (rarely happens, but glad she comes to me when desperate)
-When I take Sarah's brace off and check for red spots--Spencer's right there saying "Sarah, are you okay?" Then he touches each little spot and says "Sorry, Sarah." So tender.
-The buckle race. I love when we're getting in the car that Sarah & Spence race to see who can win.
-Love moments at the piano with Sarah & Spence on each side of me singing their hearts out to their favorite primary songs--I'm Trying to be Like Jesus makes me cry every time. Sarah still know the sign language!
-Watching Justin read bed-time stories to the kids.
-Watching Sarah put together a puzzle. She's incredible!
-Reading a book to Spence--I can ask question after question and he always knows the answer. He's so into every word, every page.

I didn't even touch half the things that are so great! Just love what I do. I wouldn't want to be any where else!

What a beautiful list! Makes me want to find and list all of those things that I love about being a mother. Thanks for your wonderful example, Megan! We love you (and the rest of your family, of course)!

Thanks Megan for reminding me of all that is good. I need to be more like Justin and help out more at bed time. I mostly like to hug my little Gracie until she is screaming for help. It doesn't help calm things down for bed so well.

I think every mother strives to be the best "MOM" in the world. You are certainly accomplishing that. I love your writing style Meg, very poingent, very illustrative. Thank you for keeping us updated and aware of the truly important things in life. We must never let life get in front of the really important things in life. Grandpa Kroff

Mothers day was emotional for me also, I totally understand. I'm always here if you need.
But I too am happy for the blessings that I too have.
And you have a beautiful family I am always amazed by how cute your two kids are!
