On November 30th of 2007 we signed our papers on our new home, with key in hand Justin and I drove to our house. OUR house! We can paint it, clean it, organize it to our own content and no body else cares. No more Forrest to tell us what light bulbs to use, no more land lady telling us when to take the trash out, no more cleaning for somebody else. On the other hand, we get to fix things when they break, we get to suffer when we can't ask for a key when we lock ourselves out, and we have a bank to answer to when we forget payments instead of a landlord.
The joy far exceeds the negative! The best feeling in the world comes when your son glances around every so often and says, "This is our home!" We love tucking our things away in the places they go and feeling like they will remain there for quite some time!
My favorite things about our home:
-Our pantry is huge and we can hide all food items from Sarah's sight
-Our Master Bedroom closet fits all the clothes/shoes that Justin & I own
-Sarah has her own room and a closet big enough for her 53 baby dolls!
-Spencer has his own room; he doesn't wake up near as much during the night
-I can leave our ironing board set up in our Laundry room
-We can all sit at our kitchen table and have someone walk all the way around at the same time.
-We have a garage where I can drive in, put the door down, and trap those precious children from running to anyone that might be outside at the moment
-The backyard is all fenced in; the gate handle is too high for little fingers to touch
-I have 3 toilets; silly, I know, but me and the kids can all go potty at the same time!
-We can yell and scream when we are excited and not wake up any sleeping neighbors
-I can play the piano while the kids are sleeping and they don't hear it
-I can paint my white walls!
-We have a swimming pool at our access just down the street
-There are 3 parks in walking distance; one even has swings
-Our neighbors are some of our closest friends
-Our ward is a miracle--we love it!

Love the "garage--trap door", I totally can relate! That's awesome about the laundry room and leaving your ironing board up. And being able to walk around the table--about time, huh? And the worry-free screaming...priceless. Love you, Meg.
